Position Role Type:

Onsite

The Technician will develop, implement, and sustain process improvement initiatives. This role will identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies and reduce cost. The position is ultimately responsible for supporting Lean initiatives working closely with the Operational Excellence Manager. The position will be reporting through the operations supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defines, designs and deploys CORE Operating System strategy throughout the company.
  • Assists with business processes and/or business process improvement methodologies to support company efforts to deliver world-class performance solutions for our customers.
  • Under direct supervision.
  • Applies basic skills in the execution of existing procedures.
  • Uses standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Performs more involved tasks.
  • Refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Help develop a strong continual improvement culture by encouraging employee suggestions, evaluating suggestions respectfully, and working with employees to trial and implement suggested changes.
  • Self-motivated with unlimited desire to learn, to identify problems, and to utilize data to understand and support continual improvement activities Must have personal values of respect for people and leading with humility.
  • Able to conduct shop floor improvement activities and ensure sustainability through employee follow up, process change evaluation, and adjustments as needed.
  • This is predominantly a highly active in movement role.
  • The job would also require the ability to lift 35 lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Working knowledge and previous experience with problem solving and implementing change.
  • Ability to work with teams and diverse individuals.
  • Ability to work in different environments on different tasks as needed and changing daily.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5S knowledge and excellent personal organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge and previous experience in assembly, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or fabrication.
  • Excellent ability to coordinate activities with a bias for action and experimenting.
  • Have a curious desire to study work and identify waste.
  • Able to write and revise standardized work documents (task, sequence, procedures, work instructions, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 36,000 USD - 72,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
